I have some scarf patterns on my charity page at CC if you need 'em.

And if you need some place to send them, see Knit Your Bit . They send scarves to veteran centers across the country, sponsored by New Orleans WWII Museum.
The scarf I am making right now is my daughter's pattern, which is just one row single crochet and one row double crochet. I'll do some kind of border around, probably a reverse sc since it is Bernat camo for the USO. Photos coming when it's done, probably next week. I received differing info on size, but at least 8" wide by minimum 48" long. I also saw 8" x 60" and 9 1/2" x 49", so... check with your local shop if you want to be sure. You can always add a dc border around if you need extra.
Also, the USO collects scarves to send soldiers in Iraq for the winter. If you live near a Pat Caban's they are one of the places you can bring your scarf to, through September 30. I don't have one locally but a friend has offered to bring mine, so I will send it to her and she will drop it off for me. Then I will make some for KYB. I bought plenty of yarn slated for scarves, so this is perfect timing!
I also finished my horizontal heart shawl and will be finalizing the pattern soon. I have a busy couple of weeks coming up, but I will not forget about it. :-) I will do the same pattern in a vertical design also. As you can see, it is not nearly as pretty as the other one with the beautiful cross-stitches, but it is a heart and does make a nice showing. You could also use the pattern in a scarf for the challenge above by just doing fewer dc rows beginning and end.

That's all for today. Have a great week everyone!
Blessings,
Sandie
